Tahir-ul-Qadri: Role of Military Establishment

Pakistan is the most happening country on the face of earth. Tahir-ul-Qadri (TuQ) is the latest phenomenon. 99.9% of the people don’t know who planted TuQ? What are his objectives? Who spent billions on his Lahore rally and Long March? In short, everyone’s confused!

Since forever, military establishment has been the powerhouse of authority in Pakistan. Nothing can be done against their will. Whether it is military dictatorship or authoritarian dynastical democratic illusion, real power lies with military establishment. Despite repeated martial laws, common uneducated man still loves and trusts Army more than politicians because:

§  Army is bad but politicians are way more bad, incompetent and insincere.

§  Politicians lack vision and brain.

§  Politicians are the masters of all kinds of corruption.

§  Common people are uneducated so they can be easily deceived by rosy promises of politicians and emotionally exploited and brainwashed by military establishment with the help of so-called Islamic Conservative Right wing Parties, Difa-e-Pakistan Council, Tahir-ul-Qadri and such other temporary cosmetic creations.

§  Corrupt politicians facilitate imposition of martial laws through their mis-management, corruption and poor performance.

And the list goes on and on and on…

Now coming back to Tahir-ul-Qadri(TuQ).Out of nowhere, TuQ lands in Pakistan on 21^st December, 2012 and holds a huge public rally of his followers in Lahore on 23^rd December. Keep in mind, such huge arrangements need weeks or months of planning and mobilization of your followers. Interestingly, Mihaj-ul-Quran’s office bearers kept on saying “TuQ doesn’t have any intentions to contest elections.”
So what were his intentions then?

One important highlight was MQM, who suddenly started supporting TuQ and sent their 50 members in Lahore rally.
What on earth caused MQM to do so?

We all know negotiations are held before a party forms an alliance or starts supporting another party. And especially in case of MQM, Rabta Committee meetings are held for making any decisions but surprisingly not in this case!
Were negotiations between TuQ and MQM held before TuQ came to Pakistan?

Tahir-ul-Qadri demanded electoral reforms and announced long march in case of non-compliance. Meanwhile PML-Q extends moral support to TuQ and endorses his agenda. Question is WHY? Long march takes place and somewhat succeeds and creates pressure on Federal Government. TuQ accumulates thousands of people for sit-in.

Let’s now answer all questions raised in our minds!!

Q1: Who planted TuQ?

Ans: Military establishment.

Q2: Who financed TuQ?

Ans: Military establishment.

Q3: Why MQM and PML-Q suddenly started supporting TuQ’s agenda?

Ans: Because MQM and PML-Q were ordered to do so by military establishment. We all know MQM and PML-Q were created by military dictators and are always ready to obey military establishment.

Q4: Why PTI was confused in such situation?

Ans: PTI had supported Musharraf’s agenda in 1999 but later on, after realizing their mistake, opposed him. Now in 2013 when no one is sure about who is backing TuQ, PTI could not take a risk of self-destruction. In the end, and rightly so, after two days of Core Committee meetings, PTI decided to stay away from establishment backed TuQ.

Q5:  How PTI was not part of establishment’s game?
Ans: Because unlike MQM and PML-Q, PTI didn’t start blind support of TuQ, instead PTI held serious discussions within the party to arrive at a majority decision.

Q6: What were the reasons and objectives of TuQ?

Ans: Independent judiciary is the biggest hurdle in the way of military intervention in political system. This fact along with the Memogate and some other incidents frustrated establishment. The fact that Army was unable to take over, made PPP Government over confident. PPP Government did many things against military’s will. One of such things was the granting of MFN status to India in 2013(which is still not granted). All these happenings forced Army to tell Govt. that the real power still rests with military. Hence, military establishment forced Govt. to remain in their limits by showing a glimpse of their strength through a puppet, TuQ. It is not surprising that at the same time several ceasefire violations were made on Line of Control (LoC), Kashmir. (I don’t exactly know who violated ceasefire first, whether Pakistan or India). Here it is worth mentioning that Kargil War also started when Indian Premier, Vajpayee visited Pakistan and Indo-Pak relations were strengthening.

Q7: Were the objectives achieved?

Ans: Yes, all objectives were achieved by 16^th January, 2013.

§  Governments has been warned and forced to remain in their limits.

§  Tension in Indo-Pak relations achieved (Consciously or unconsciously, I don’t know).

§  Pakistan may not grant MFN status to India in near future.

§  Now, Govt.s will not dare to go against military’s directions especially in case of foreign affairs and defence matters.

§  Army comes back with a BANG due to extreme poor performance of FAKE democratic Govt.

 

 Q8: What are the miscellaneous factors affecting my analysis?

Ans: DENIAL OF DG ISPR: On 2^nd January, DG ISPR issued a statement denying the fact that TuQ is backed by Army. Then after a few days USA and UK also denied support of TuQ. WAIT A MINUTE! After TuQ’s Lahore rally, first quick denial came from ISPR but no such denial was ever issued when PML-N wrongly accused PTI of Army support. WHY THESE DOUBLE STANDARDS?? There is an Urdu saying, “Chor ki daarhi mein tinka.”

A famous English journalist, Claud Cockburn once said:

“Never believe anything until it has been officially denied.”

This quote explains all if you have a brain in your skull!!

FOREIGN SECRETARY’S STATEMENT: Foreign secretary recently said that “few stakeholders” have reservations over granting of MFN status to India. In my opinion that “stakeholder” is none other than our own beloved “Army”.

My political sense says:

§  TuQ will end his long march cum sit-in within 2-5 days.

§  Elections will be delayed.

§  Caretaker setup will be prolonged.

§  PTI will win next elections, whenever held.

You might laugh, ridicule or ignore my analysis as I am not a professional "journalist cum columnist cum analyst cum TV anchor/actor"…….But time will prove my words!!

P.S: I know people of Pakistan can’t listen anything against Pak Army because they are emotionally brainwashed. You can differ with my opinion. I am against granting of MFN status to India. I am neither pro-Army nor against Army. I am only pro-Pakistan.
